Local powerhouse couple to bring the first-of-its-kind, Montessori-inspired cooking academy to the Badger State, opening three locations in Wisconsin
Milwaukee, WI – April 4, 2023 – Little Kitchen Academy (LKA), the first-of-its-kind Montessori-inspired cooking academy for kids ages 3 through 18, is expanding its footprint in the US with the announcement of its first three locations in Wisconsin. Local powerhouse couple Rosanna and Kevin Casper will open three locations in the state: LKA Brookfield, LKA Shorewood Hills, and LKA Whitefish Bay. In addition to being parents of three, Rosanna and Kevin also own and operate two very successful Goldfish Swim Schools in the Milwaukee market: Goldfish Swim School – Brookfield and Goldfish Swim School – Bayshore.
“Kevin and I are thrilled to be bringing the gift of Little Kitchen Academy to our community,” said Rosanna Casper. “As a mom, I know that Little Kitchen Academy is so much more than just a cooking school; it’s an opportunity to give the next generation the tools they need to succeed. I was inspired by the idea that teaching children practical life skills and food literacy is essential to a healthier future, so I am so excited to have the opportunity to start changing lives from scratch in Wisconsin.”
The purpose-driven concept was founded by Montessori-trained culinary innovator Felicity Curin, her husband, proven global branding, franchise expert and serial entrepreneur, Brian Curin, and social impact investor and entrepreneur, Praveen Varshney, to empower children to make independent choices, enabling them to change their lives and those around them.
“Being a proud Wisconsinite, having been born in Burlington and growing up in Lake Geneva, where my mom and sister still call home, this is a very special gift to find amazing people, like the Casper Family, to bring Little Kitchen Academy to the good people of Wisconsin,” said Brian Curin, CEO/CMO & Co-Founder of Little Kitchen Academy. “I can’t wait to see the first students in Brookfield and Shorewood Hills and Whitefish Bay put on their chef coats and begin their journey. We see what an important impact LKA has on communities globally, so I am thrilled to have found the right partners to join us in changing lives from scratch in Wisconsin!”
LKA’s Montessori-inspired environment is designed to support the growth and development of each child. Instructors show the students how to safely use tools and prepare recipes but step back to closely observe the independent work, only stepping in when deemed appropriate. This approach enables students to learn at their own pace while they acquire practical life skills that foster independence, confidence, and socialization. LKA further empowers students to make better food choices, apply age-appropriate math and science skills in real-world settings, and embrace practices such as recycling and composting. The curriculum also introduces the concept of philanthropy to help children make socially conscious contributions to the world through its global philanthropic initiative, “How Can I Help”. This program empowers students to learn about giving back and making a difference by putting the choice in their hands to support one of three notable causes.
