Toddler’s First Taste for 2-3 Year Olds.

Cooking classes for 2-3 year olds and their caregivers.

If your child is 2 years old, or newly 3 years old but you aren’t quite sure if they are ready for our 3-5 year old classes, these Toddler’s First Taste classes will allow them to benefit from the life skills taught at LKA and get them ready to graduate to our 3-hour program.

Toddler’s First Taste 75-minute classes will introduce your child to our program and teach the participating caregiver about our Montessori-inspired instruction with tips they can continue to use at home.  We’ll provide all of the tools and instruction for the child to make a simple recipe with some assistance from their caregiver when appropriate for their developmental stage.

It’s a great bonding experience for a caregiver and child and may become their favorite weekly activity together!

“Such a sweet and fun experience for me and my toddler! And the food was yummy, too!” – Sydney L., LKA parent

New classes are being added at all LKA schools. Sign up for email updates to find out when new classes are available.

The curriculum We provide educational enrichment that embraces each child’s own ways of learning.

Just like our older students, our 2-3 year olds will put on our smallest chef’s coats and get ready to participate in a shorter version of our program.

Through mindful, age-appropriate work our students will develop their confidence, ability, and interest in the kitchen as they create a simple recipe. We introduce practices to develop and refine the senses, strengthen both gross and fine motor skills, create proper hygiene habits and learn how to work safely in the kitchen. We’ll explain to parents how they can continue to practice these skills at home.
