LKA Franchise Partners Linsay and Blake Moran to Open LKA Toronto High Park This Fall at 1982 Bloor Street West in High Park

Little Kitchen Academy (LKA) the first-of-its-kind Montessori-inspired cooking academy for kids ages 3 through 18, is expanding its footprint in the Greater Toronto Area as they announce a new location opening in Toronto’s prestigious High Park/Bloor West neighbourhood opening this Fall. Powerhouse couple, Linsay and Blake Moran will be opening LKA Toronto High Park later this year at 1982 Bloor Street West, just steps from Toronto’s High Park. Construction will begin soon, with plans to open early enrollment in August. Parents and families are encouraged to sign up for email updates to take advantage of priority early enrollment.

“When we heard about Little Kitchen Academy, we knew it was the right opportunity for us,” said Linsay Moran, Franchise Partner for LKA High Park. “I feel so fortunate to have had food literacy and healthy eating habits instilled in me at an early age and am so excited to share that with my children and with every student who comes into Little Kitchen Academy. We are looking forward to seeing our students learning new skills and growing their confidence and independence at Little Kitchen Academy in High Park.”

In addition to being proud parents to two young children, Linsay and Blake Moran have extensive professional experience, which will support them in opening their location. Blake is Canadian legal counsel at one of North America’s largest food distribution companies, while Linsay is the co-founder of the virtual gifting platform Unwrapit.

The purpose-driven concept was founded by Montessori-trained culinary innovator Felicity Curin, her husband, proven global branding, franchise expert and serial entrepreneur, Brian Curin, and social impact investor and entrepreneur, Praveen Varshney, to empower children to make independent choices, enabling them to change their lives and those around them.

“We have been so honoured to see the response to Little Kitchen Academy throughout the province so far and are thrilled to share our purpose-driven concept with more families in the area,” said Brian Curin, CEO/CMO and Co-Founder of Little Kitchen Academy. “Linsay and Blake’s passion for their community and desire to have an impact on the next generation is wonderful, and we can’t wait for them to welcome the first students into their kitchen this fall!”

LKA’s Montessori-inspired environment is designed to support the growth and development of each child. Instructors show the students how to safely use tools and prepare recipes but step back to closely observe the independent work, only stepping in when deemed appropriate. This approach enables students to learn at their own pace while they acquire practical life skills that foster independence, confidence, and socialization. LKA further empowers students to make better food choices, apply age-appropriate math and science skills in real-world settings, and embrace practices such as recycling and composting. The curriculum also introduces the concept of philanthropy to help children make socially conscious contributions to the world through its global philanthropic initiative, “How Can I Help,” a program that empowers students to learn about giving back and making a difference by putting the choice in their hands to support one of three notable causes.
